San Francisco Police Arrest Homicide Suspect Hours After Fatal Shooting
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Officers from the San Francisco Police Department responded to a report of a shooting on the 100 block of 6th Street at approximately 1:31 a.m. on March 4, 2026. Upon arrival, law enforcement located a victim with gunshot wounds and provided medical assistance. Paramedics subsequently transported the individual to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Despite medical efforts, the victim was later pronounced deceased at the facility.
The SFPD Homicide Detail assumed control of the investigation and identified 33-year-old Siaosi Aleamotua of San Francisco as the suspect. Investigators developed probable cause to obtain both an arrest and a search warrant for the individual. A coordinated effort between the SFPD Investigations Bureau and the Tactical Unit led to the location of Aleamotua on the 1200 block of Mission Street. He was taken into custody at approximately 9:26 a.m. that same day, less than eight hours after the initial report. Aleamotua was booked into the San Francisco County Jail on a charge of murder (187(a)PC).
Records indicate that Aleamotua has a prior arrest history with the SFPD. On November 6, 2024, he was arrested on multiple charges, including resisting or obstructing a peace officer, hit and run resulting in property damage, possession of a firearm by an addict, and possession of ammunition. Other charges from that incident included carrying a loaded firearm in a public place, evasion with wanton disregard for safety, driving an unregistered vehicle, carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, and possession of a large-capacity magazine.
The current homicide case remains an open and active investigation under the San Francisco Police Department.
