Grass Valley Man Arrested Following Months-Long Child Predator Investigation
GRASS VALLEY, CA — Authorities in Grass Valley have arrested 25-year-old Yefri Joel Cruz-Valle following a multi-month investigation into allegations of child molestation. The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) took Cruz-Valle into custody on the evening of Jan. 21 at a local fitness center. The arrest was conducted without incident by detectives from the NCSO Major Crimes Unit.
The investigation was initiated on Oct. 29, 2025, after a local school counselor contacted law enforcement regarding a juvenile female student. According to officials, the subsequent inquiry produced evidence and information that supported allegations of sexual misconduct. Cruz-Valle was identified as the suspect during the course of the investigation and was subsequently booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility. He is currently being held with a no-bail enhancement.
The charges filed against Cruz-Valle include lewd or lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14, lewd or lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14 by force, oral copulation by force or fear, and contacting a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense.
The NCSO stated that the investigation remains active and ongoing. Information regarding the identity of the child or the specific school involved is being withheld to maintain the integrity of the case and ensure the anonymity of the minor and their family.
