Olivehurst Man Arrested for Allegedly Attempting to Lure Minors

OLIVEHURST, CA  — “The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department has arrested 25-year-old Chase Alan Weightman in connection with multiple reports involving the attempted luring and sexual exploitation of minors.

On Friday, January 9, 2026, deputies received a report that a male subject had attempted to lure a juvenile into a vehicle. During the encounter, the suspect allegedly asked the child a sexually explicit question. The juvenile refused and immediately reported the incident to a trusted adult upon arriving home.

On Monday, January 12, 2026, the Sheriff’s Department received a second report involving a similar incident with another juvenile victim. Based on the nature of the cases, the investigation was assumed by a Yuba County Sheriff’s School Resource Officer (SRO) in coordination with the Detective Division.

On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, investigators identified Chase Alan Weightman, of Olivehurst, as the suspect and he was arrested at his residence. Weightman was booked into the Yuba County Jail for 664/288 PC (Attempted lewd and Lascivious Acts with a child under 14), 647.6 PC (Annoying or Molesting a child), and 288.3 PC (Contacting a child with the intent to commit sexual assault).
