Beaumont Resident Arrested Following Homicide Investigation in San Bernardino

SAN BERNARDINO, CA — Deputies from the Central Station of the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department responded to a call for service on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at approximately 9:19 a.m. The incident occurred in the 19000 block of Kendall Drive in San Bernardino. Upon arrival, law enforcement personnel located a deceased adult male at the scene. Initial observations indicated that the decedent had sustained a gunshot wound.

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail was notified and subsequently assumed responsibility for the investigation. As part of the investigative process, detectives interviewed individuals who were present at the location of the death. These interviews led to the identification of a suspect in the case.

Omar Antonio Mejia Ceron, a 38-year-old resident of Beaumont, was arrested in connection with the incident. He has been charged with murder under California Penal Code 187 and is currently being held without bail at the Central Detention Center. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending the formal notification of next of kin.
