Man Arrested for Alleged DUI Following Two-Vehicle Collision in Redding

REDDING, CA — “On December 28, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Redding Police Department officers responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision with injuries on Clear Creek Road, just west of Highway 273, in south Redding.

Officers determined that both drivers sustained major injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The preliminary investigation showed that Hom Lotakhoon, 49 years old of Redding, was driving an Infiniti passenger car westbound on Clear Creek Road. For unknown reasons, Lotakhoon made a left turn into the driveway of a closed business, directly in front of an eastbound travelling Ram pickup truck, causing the collision.

While at the hospital, Lotakhoon was evaluated by a Redding Police Department Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) and was determined to be under the influence of narcotics. Once medically cleared, Lotakhoon was arrested for felony driving under the influence causing injury and booked into the Shasta County Jail.

This investigation remains ongoing.”
