Solano County Authorities Recover Six Vehicles with Altered VINs, Suspect Arrested

VALLEJO, CA — “On November 25, 2025, members of the Solano County Auto Theft Task Force (SOLCATT), with assistance from the Solano County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Bureau and Sheriff’s Enforcement Team (SET), served a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Phoenix Circle in the City of Vallejo.

During the service of the warrant, a 35 year old male resident of Vallejo, refused to come to the door and after force was used to enter the residence it was determined that the suspect broke his cell phone and started a fire on his bedroom floor to destroy evidence.

Detectives located and recovered six vehicles that had their Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) altered or switched in an apparent attempt to conceal their identity or stolen status.

The following vehicles were recovered:

1966 Ford Mustang (Stolen)
1967 Ford Shelby Cobra GT Mustang
1969 Chevy Camaro SS (Stolen)
2020 GMC 2500 Denali (Stolen)
A Chevy Corvette engine
A white 20’ Cargo King enclosed trailer
A black car trailer with a custom Chevy frame worth approximately $300k.

The male suspect, was arrested at the location. He was booked into the Solano County Jail on the following charges:

496D(A) PC – Possession of stolen vehicle
10801 CVC – Own or operate a chop shop
10802 CVC – Alter a vehicles identification number
10751(A) CVC – Possession of a vehicle with an altered VIN number
135 PC – Destruction of evidence

Once all six recovered vehicles have their true identity identified and confirmed stolen they will be returned to their owners.

The Solano County Auto Theft Task Force is a multi-agency unit consisting of investigators from the California Highway Patrol, and Solano County Sheriff’s Office dedicated to combating vehicle theft and related crimes throughout Solano County.
