Watsonville Man Sustains Major Injuries in Hit-and-Run on Green Valley Road
SANTA CRUZ, CA — A 40-year-old Watsonville man sustained major injuries following a hit-and-run collision that occurred on Green Valley Road late in the evening of December 7, 2025. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers made contact with the man at Watsonville Hospital following the incident.
Based on preliminary information gathered by the CHP, the crash took place between 9:00 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. The pedestrian was reportedly walking eastbound on Green Valley Road, east of Pioneer Road, when the collision occurred.
An unknown vehicle, which law enforcement currently believes may be a sedan, was also traveling eastbound on Green Valley Road, west of the pedestrian’s location. For reasons that remain under investigation, the vehicle struck the pedestrian and subsequently left the scene of the crash. The injured man was later transported to Watsonville Hospital for treatment of his major injuries.
The cause of the collision is still being investigated by the CHP. At this time, it is unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors in the incident.
