SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The San Francisco Police Department is conducting an investigation into the suspicious death of an infant who was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries in September.
SFPD officers were first called to a hospital on the 1100 block of Van Ness Avenue at approximately 3:38 a.m. on September 13, 2025, to meet with hospital staff. The staff informed police that the infant had been brought to the facility on September 12, 2025, around 11:50 a.m. with severe injuries.
The infant remained under medical care at the hospital for several weeks. Despite the efforts of the hospital staff to save the child, the infant was declared deceased on November 3, 2025.
Due to the suspicious nature surrounding the circumstances of the death, the investigation has been transferred to the SFPD Homicide Detail. Authorities have confirmed that the investigation remains open and active, and as of this reporting, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
