Yucaipa Man Arrested for Murder of Brother Following Medical Aid Call

YUCAIPA, CA — Investigators with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail are conducting an investigation into the death of a Yucaipa resident after a welfare check led to an arrest on a murder charge last Friday.

On Friday, October 31, 2025, at approximately 7:20 a.m., Yucaipa deputies responded to the 12000 block of Sixth Street after receiving a call for medical aid. The caller, Matthew Ludwig, reported that his brother, Larry Adams, was not breathing. Deputies arrived at the location and found Adams, 55, deceased in the living room.

Due to the circumstances observed at the scene, Ludwig, 50, also a resident of Yucaipa, was detained without incident. Authorities discovered that Ludwig was subject to an outstanding felony warrant.

The Sheriff’s Homicide Detail was notified and assumed control of the investigation. Through their subsequent inquiry, detectives reportedly found multiple inconsistencies in the account provided by Ludwig. Based on the findings of the investigation, Ludwig was subsequently arrested for PC187 – Murder, in addition to his existing felony warrant. He currently remains in custody at the Central Detention Center.
