Two Arrested in Connection with Shooting in Browns Valley

BROWNS VALEY, CA  — “On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at approximately 5:40 p.m., the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received multiple reports of a neighborhood dispute with shots fired in the 9000 block of Deer Hollow Trail in Browns Valley.

Deputies responded to the scene and located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was provided with emergency medical aid at the scene and subsequently life-flighted to an area hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Sheriff’s detectives responded and began an extensive investigation, including interviews with witnesses and involved parties. Preliminary findings indicate the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute between neighbors over a shared driveway.

At the conclusion of the investigation, deputies arrested 75-year-old Juan Leon and 66-year-old Rebecca Leon, both residents of the call location. The pair were booked into the Yuba County Jail on charges related to the shooting.”
