SAN FRANCISCO, CA – An investigation is underway by the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) Homicide Detail following a fatal shooting that occurred in the Tenderloin neighborhood on September 14, 2025. Officers responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Golden Gate Avenue and Turk Street at approximately 6:31 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers located a male victim with a gunshot wound. Emergency personnel provided medical aid and transported the individual to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. The victim later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The investigation led officers to locate and detain a person matching the suspect’s description in Oakland, with the assistance of BART Police. The detained individual, identified as Frank Garcia-Calloway, a 26-year-old male, was subsequently arrested by SFPD officers. Garcia-Calloway was transported to San Francisco County Jail and booked on charges related to the shooting.
Following the victim’s death, the SFPD Homicide Detail assumed the lead role in the ongoing investigation. The department is working with the District Attorney’s Office to update the charges against Garcia-Calloway to reflect the homicide.
