Sacramento Police Seize Firearms and Drugs in North Area Search
SACRAMENTO, CA — The Sacramento Police Department’s North Violent Crime Reduction (NVCR) Team announced the results of a recent investigation that led to the recovery of multiple firearms and narcotics. The operation, which took place on September 11, 2025, stemmed from an altercation at a local junior high school and subsequent online threats, according to a press release from the department.
An investigation was initiated by an NVCR team officer following the incident. After securing a search warrant, officers executed the warrant at a Sacramento residence. The search resulted in the seizure of a total of five firearms: one stolen handgun, two additional handguns, an AK-47 style rifle, and an AR-15 style rifle. In addition to the weapons, officers also recovered several ounces of cocaine and an unspecified amount of cash.
Jose Gomez, a 34-year-old Sacramento resident, was arrested at the scene. He faces various charges related to firearms, threats, and narcotics.
The Sacramento Police Department noted that these types of investigations, while not always visible to the public, contribute to the safety of the community. The department commended the NVCR Team for its work in the case.
