Yuba County Authorities Investigate Shooting at Collins Lake
BROWNS VALLEY, CA — “Just after 5:30 p.m. this evening, our dispatch center received a call stating a shooting had just taken place at Collins Lake located at 7530 Collins Lake Road in Browns Valley. One victim sustained a gun shot wound to the arm when he and his family were attempting to leave in their vehicle. The victim was transported to Rideout Adventist Hospital in Marysville.
Statements from the victim and multiple witnesses indicate the suspect(s) were seen leaving the scene shortly after the shooting took place.
The investigation has been assumed by detectives, who are working to confirm suspect’s identity and determine what led up to the incident. Due to the ongoing investigation, further details are limited at this time.
Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident with no additional risk to the community.
