Report: San Mateo County Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Attempted Robbery Suspect
SAN CARLOS, CA — “San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Deputies swiftly located a suspect Monday afternoon who reportedly brandished a knife and attempted to rob a victim outside of the Taco Bell in San Carlos.
On Monday, May 19, 2025, at around 3:30 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies assigned to the San Carlos Police Bureau responded to the business located in the 200 block of El Camino Real following the report of an attempted robbery to an individual.
The adult male victim told deputies he was outside of the business when an unknown man approached him and demanded to see his belongings. When the victim refused, the suspect allegedly brandished a knife. The victim was not injured in the incident.
Responding deputies located the suspect a short distance away. The suspect, later identified as Alexis Rincon of East Palo Alto, was taken into custody without incident. Deputies recovered the knife, and Rincon was subsequently arrested and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility for the following charges: Attempted 2nd Degree Robbery, Brandishing a Deadly Weapon and a Probation Violation.
The attempted robbery is being investigated as an isolated incident.
