Yuba County Authorities Identify, Arrest Suspect in Murder of Amery Sweany

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department has announced the arrest of the primary suspect in the murder of Amery Sweany.

In a press release, the Sheriff’s Department identified the suspect as Ricky Lasher, 39.

Sweany’s body was discovered in an orchard on the 1700 block of Simpson Lane in Marysville on April 27, 2023.

At around 8 PM on the night of April 10, authorities served an arrest warrant on the 1400 block of Jamie Drive in Yuba City. Lasher was taken into custody.

Lasher was later booked at the Yuba County jail on suspicion of murder.
