“On Sunday, January 7th, at 1:20 AM, Davis PD patrol officers were parked in the city parking lot at the corner of F Street and First Street downtown, watching for traffic violations.

They observed a Nissan traveling south on F Street towards First Street at a high rate of speed. The Nissan failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection and continued at high speed straight into the parking lot where the officers were parked. The Nissan then collided with an unoccupied parked car, took out a wrought iron fence and continued airborne over Richards Blvd. where it ultimately landed on its wheels. Miraculously, neither the driver nor anyone else was hurt but the results could have been deadly had it been busier downtown.

Officers conducted a DUI investigation and ultimately arrested the driver, Joseph Vincent, 28, of San Dimas for DUI. The driver’s blood alcohol level was tested to be almost three times the legal limit.”
