In a significant breakthrough, the Sacramento Sheriff Airport Property Crimes and Organized Policing (POP) team, in collaboration with detectives from the Major Crimes Bureau, have successfully apprehended a suspect believed to be responsible for a series of catalytic converter thefts at the Sacramento International Airport. Ryan Kary, the prime suspect, was taken into custody on April 26, 2023, following an intensive investigation.
A search conducted at Kary’s residence proved to be highly fruitful, uncovering compelling evidence linking him to the crimes. Among the discoveries were four stolen firearms, more than 100 rounds of ammunition, a substantial sum of $3,159 in cash, two stolen catalytic converters, burglary tools, and various other reported stolen items. This evidence has been pivotal in building a strong case against Kary.
Kary now faces multiple felony charges and has been booked into custody as a result of the diligent efforts of law enforcement personnel involved in the investigation. However, detectives suspect that there may be additional unreported thefts committed by Kary. They are actively working to identify any other victims associated with the recovered stolen items.
