“On February 10, 2023, at approximately 8:00 a.m., personnel from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office and Kern County Probation Department conducted a warrant sweep within the town of Buttonwillow, City of Wasco, and City of Shafter. During the operation, six (6) subjects were arrested for various felony and misdemeanor violations which are as follows:

• Javier Palpa (age 39) of Shafter, was taken into custody in the 100 Block of Poso Avenue for possession of narcotics and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

• David Castillo (age 41) of Wasco, was taken into custody in the 1000 block of 6th for an outstanding felony warrant and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

• Mario Contreras (age 49) of Wasco, was taken into custody in the 1000 Block of 6th Street for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

• Abel Castillo (age 35) of Wasco, was taken into custody in the 1000 Block of 6th Street for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

• Mario Macias (age 55) of Wasco, was taken into custody in the 600 Block of D Street for multiple outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

• Arthur Arellano (age 57) of Wasco, was taken into custody in the 700 Block of H Street for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

Palpa, David Castillo, and Macias were booked into the Central Receiving Facility. Abel Castillo, Contreras, and Arellano were cited and released pending a court hearing.”
