Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested After Stand-Off with Law Enforcement

The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was summoned to the 7200 block of Road 248 in Terra Bella on the afternoon of February 8th, 2023, to assist the U.S. Marshals and Exeter Police in serving a high-risk warrant for a suspect wanted for attempted murder.

According to a press release from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect — 38-year-old Moses Legazpi — was found hiding on the property, and as the SWAT team attempted to apprehend him, he allegedly fired several shots at them. However, due to successful negotiations, the suspect was taken into custody without incident, and no injuries were reported among the SWAT team or the suspect.

The incident is still under investigation. Detectives are working diligently to gather information and piece together the events that took place during the warrant.
