The reporting party knew the house was unoccupied because the resident was arrested by Chico PD detectives on 9/21/2022. Upon arrival, officers contacted 50-year-old Chico resident Jason Nystrom working on a vehicle in the driveway. They also contacted 42-year-old Chico resident Rochelle Hines walking out of the unoccupied home.

During the investigation, officers contacted the resident who was currently in custody at the Butte County Jail, and confirmed that Hines and Nystrom should not be on the property, nor should they be in possession of his property. Hines and Nystrom were arrested for residential burglary.”
