“While the personal use of marijuana is legal in California, there are still guidelines that must be followed to ensure the safety of the community. It is illegal to drive while under the influence of marijuana and any marijuana being transported in a car must be in a sealed container.
During a recent traffic stop for an equipment violation, one of our officers observed what was later determined to be over a pound of suspected marijuana in the backseat of the car. The suspected marijuana was contained in several unsealed clear plastic bags. Upon further search of the car, a loaded firearm was also found.
Luckily no one was hurt… The driver was subsequently arrested for multiple gun charges.”
