“Last week, Officers received a call of a road rage incident. It was reported that a driver brandished a firearm at another citizen who was also driving. Officers quickly responded and located the suspect vehicle at Safeway on Sunset Blvd. The driver was uncooperative but Officers were able to safely detain him at the store.

After a positive identification of the subject and his vehicle by the victim, Officers searched the suspects vehicle and located multiple loaded firearms, magazines, and ammunition in two bags on the front passenger seat. These items were seized, and Brandon Powell, 36 years old from Rocklin, was arrested for various weapons violations, brandishing a firearm, and for resisting an officer.

Meanwhile, we took additional investigative steps involving our Detectives who obtained a search warrant for Powell’s residence where additional firearms, magazines, and ammunition were also located and seized as evidence.

Additionally, a Gun Violence Restraining Order and a Bail Enhancement resulting in “No Bail” were issued by a judge. We are thankful for the team effort between patrol and investigations which resulted in a peaceful resolution and thorough investigation.”
