Man arrested for pre-Christmas vehicular homicide

“This morning, February 10, 2022, the Roseville Police Department Traffic Unit arrested 56 year old Scott Hopkins for Vehicular Homicide, as a result of an investigation into a collision that occurred on 12/22/2021 on Old Auburn Road, near S. Cirby Way.

On 12/22/21, Roseville Police and Fire responded to a report of a two vehicle collision with injuries. Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased on scene. The Police Department Multi-disciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded to the scene and began their investigation while Hopkins was transported to the hospital.

As a result of the lengthy investigation, Hopkins was found to have caused the collision while driving under the influence of a controlled substance and was discovered to have prior convictions for driving under the influence.

Today he was arrested and booked into the South Placer County Jail. His bail has been set at $250,000.”
