Homicide Investigation Update – Arrest for Suspected Gang-Related Jan. 29th Murder

LONG BEACH – Breaking News arrived on February 10th when detectives from the Special Investigation Division announced the pinpoint and 02/09/2022 murder-arrest of Armando Train (25), of Long Beach at approximately 10:45 AM. The update of the homicide investigation comes on the heels of the ongoing investigation into the shooting death of Eduardo Alonso (30) – a homeless man.

While the motive for the shooting is still under investigation, significant gathered evidence points to Train’s involvement, possession of a loaded firearm, and illegal narcotics. He was arrested near Martin Luther King Boulevard and 10th Street.

Train was booked on one count each of murder, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of narcotics, and a parole violation. While he is tucked away at Long Beach City Jail on $2,000,000 bail, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office will be presented the case early next week for filing consideration.

Initially, the shooting took place on the 1400 block of Long Beach Boulevard on the afternoon of 01/29/2022. Preliminary investigation revealed that an altercation took place with suspect(s) inside a building which appeared to have been converted into a homeless encampment.

Once the suspect(s) shot the victim, the last sighting took place southbound in the rear alley of the encampment. The incident is currently being investigated as gang-related.
