“DRUG DUI AND WEAPONS ARREST – Officer Wells made a stop tonight on a semi-truck driving off the truck route through downtown.
The driver, a long haul truck driver from Texas, was under the influence of methamphetamine and had a semi-automatic, short-barreled shotgun in the cab of the truck. The driver was arrested.
Officer Wells is a Drug Recognition Expert, firearms instructor and range master, and traffic enforcement officer. All of his skills converged for this one stop and we are thankful this driver is off the road before someone was seriously hurt.”
