A homeless man was recently arrested after allegedly stabbing another homeless man in Grover Beach, according to police.

Police, fire, and medical personnel responded on the night of October 6 to the area of East Grand Avenue, where a homeless man had reportedly suffered a life-threatening stab wound to the neck. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment and is expected to survive, police said.

Investigators soon identified the suspect in the stabbing as 24-year-old Mark Lee Simpson, another homeless man. He was located and arrested in Arroyo Grande only about two hours after the stabbing, and booked on suspicion of attempted murder.
