“On October 2, 2021 at approximately 1000 hours, the Mt Shasta Police Department responded to an animal abuse complaint. The reporting party described the dog as overheated and bleeding from the pads of its feet.

Upon investigation it was discovered that 74-year-old Donald Lee Jost was driving his vehicle while dragging his canine for over 45 minutes. This caused injuries to the canine’s feet, exhaustion, and dehydration.

Jost was booked into Siskiyou County Jail for felony animal abuse charges while the canine receives treatment from Mt Shasta Animal Hospital and the Siskiyou Humane Society.”
