“At 4:55 am we received a call of a vehicle on fire in the parking lot of 10 N. Cottonwood St. (Mercy Housing).
Luckily our friends at the Woodland Fire Department arrived quickly and extinguished the fire before it spread to other vehicles or structures.
Unfortunately the vehicle was a total loss and solar panels for the complex were also damaged. It was determined that the fire was more than likely set intentionally.
Officers on scene were able to quickly identify a suspect in the crime and stopped a vehicle that he was driving as it left the apartment complex.
The suspect, 46 year old, Woodland resident, Daniel Jason Pedro Sr., was arrested for the arson and booked into Yolo County Jail.”
