San Francisco Police make arrest in Fern Street homicide case

San Francisco police have announced the arrest of a primary suspect in connection to a homicide on Fern Street in early May.

In the early morning hours of May 8th, officers had responded to the 100 block of Fern Street on a report of a shooting. There they found 25-year-old Robert Luis Mena Gallardo suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to his upper body. Gallardo was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.

By the afternoon of May 18th, investigators had identified 25-year-old Ulysses Gutierrez as the primary suspect.

Gutierrez was located and arrested on suspicion of murder, carrying a loaded firearm in public, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, and probation violation.
