Eureka detectives serve search warrant at hotel room; suspect arrested

A man has been arrested on suspicion of selling drugs out of a hotel room in Eureka.

On May 25, Eureka PD detectives served a search warrant at a hotel on the 200 block of 5th Street.

42-year-old Michael Wade Thielen was detained in the room. The subsequent search reportedly turned up two pounds of meth, over 1600 fentanyl pills, almost 80 grams of heroin, thirty-two Xanax pills, 2,000 milliliters of testosterone, and cash. They also found a loaded handgun.

Thielen was arrested and booked at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on a variety of charges related to the search and subsequent discoveries.
