K9 Ziden helps sniff out narcotics from Ione pair

The Amador County Sheriff’s Office  Official Facebook page reports of a traffic stop that resulted in the arrests of two suspects-

“Yesterday an Amador County Sheriff’s Office K9 Deputy and his K9 partner Zidan, conducted a traffic stop in the Ione area.

The occupants of the vehicle were Shawn Porter of Ione and Benita Andreas also from Ione.

Porter was on active Parole and Andreas was on Sacramento County Probation for drug trafficking. A search of the vehicle was conducted using, K9 Zidan, who alerted on the engine compartment of the vehicle.

A subsequent search of the engine compartment located a metal box containing a large amount of suspected methamphetamine. Amador County Combined Narcotics Enforcement Team (ACCNET) was notified and upon further investigation located additional evidence of narcotics sales and trafficking at Porter and Andreas’ residence.

Shawn Porter was booked in the Amador County Jail for possession of a controlled substance for sales and parole violation. Benita Andreas was booked in the Amador County Jail for possession of a controlled substance for sales and possession of drug paraphernalia. Well done Ziden.”
