Two arrested in gang-related shooting in San Mateo

San Mateo police have arrested two suspects in a recent gang-related shooting that left two people injured.

Late on the night of Friday, March 27, officers responded to the intersection of Rogell Avenue and North Kingston Street to investigate a reported shooting. At the scene they found two victims, one of whom had sustained a gunshot wound to the head and the other to the buttocks.

The two were quickly taken to hospital. As of March 31, they are reportedly listed in critical and stable condition, respectively.

Investigators soon determined the shooting had been targeted and gang-related.

This past Monday, March 30, North Central Regional SWAT officers served a search warrant at a home on the 1200 block of Monte Diablo Avenue, arresting Nathan Rodriguez (32) and Karla Rodriguez (31) as primary suspects in the shooting.

They have since been booked at the San Mateo County Jail.

The investigation remains open and ongoing.
