Cross Country Sheriff Collaboration Nets Arrest in Crimes Against Children Case

On March 16, 2020, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Crimes Against Children Division was alerted to a possible case of sexual exploitation of a minor. The call came from South Carolina’s Pickens County Sheriff’s Department.

Pickens County Sheriff’s Department investigators passed along information regarding South Carolina minors sending and receiving harmful material to an unknown suspect residing in Apple Valley.

Investigators and personnel of San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Specialized Enforcement Detail, Crimes Against Children, and Hi-Tech Division executed a search warrant at a home on the 11800 block of Running Deer Road in Apple Valley two days after receiving the call.

34-year old Roy Sescon was contacted at the residence. He was interviewed and subsequently arrested on suspicion of sending harmful matter to a minor, sexual exploitation of a minor, and possession of child pornography.

Sescon was booked at the Central Detention Center on March 18, 2020, from which he has since been released after posting the $100,000 bail.
