The Sacramento Sheriff’s Department has announced the arrests of three suspects in connection to a shooting at a hotel that killed one and injured another.

Deputies were dispatched to the 2600 block of Auburn Boulevard just after 1 AM on New Year’s Day, where they found a 23-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was later pronounced dead at hospital.

A second victim sustained similar injuries that were fortunately not life-threatening.

On Friday, January 24, detectives arrested Robert Massingale (22), Alizey Whitfield (23), and Darquan Jackson (25) as primary suspects in the shooting.

Authorities say they believe the victims were attending a party at the hotel when they were approached and shot at. No further details are being released as the investigation continues.
