EL DORADO COUNTY — A man has been arrested on suspicion of stealing an El Dorado County Sheriff patrol SUV in South Lake Tahoe last week.

On the morning of Wednesday, November 13, a deputy at the Tahoe office noticed one of their patrol SUVs was missing and soon tracked it to westbound HIghway 50.

CHP, Placerville PD, and EDSO units gave chase, with Placerville PD ultimately deploying a spike strip to neutralize the vehicle near Schnell School.

The SUV came to a stop at Highway 50 and Spring Street and the driver, 30-year-old Jacob Randall Wolfe, was taken into custody.

Authorities say nothing was stolen from the vehicle and that all the gear was still in place. It has yet to be determined how Wolfe gained access.
