Fort Worth officer charged with murder in killing of Atatiana Jefferson

FORTH WORTH — Former police officer Aaron Dean has been charged with murder in connection to the death of Atatiana Jefferson, who was shot to death in her own home last weekend.

Dean was reportedly responding to an open structure call 2:30 AM Saturday, October 12, following a neighbor’s report that her door was open.

Bodycam footage from the call shows Dean approaching a window in the backyard and, upon seeing Jefferson approach from inside, quickly tell her to put her hands up and then fire his gun.

He also did not identify himself as a police officer.

Dean, who TMZ reports was not cooperating with the investigation, resigned from his job just hours before being arrested and booked on $200,000 bail.
