Woman remains in custody in intriguing Calaveras case

WILSEYVILLE – 25-year-old Shaylee Scott remains in jail without bail after violating her probation. Scott had previously been convicted of felony identity theft in 2017 and was placed on probation as part of her sentencing..

Now she is part of a continuing missing person investigation involving her father, 65-year-old Shannon Scott. Mr. Scott went missing on August 29th 2018 after never showing up for a doctor’s visit in Rancho Cordova.

On April 8th Mr. Scott’s 2014 Ford Fiat was located off of State Route 16 near Plymouth.  It was down an embankment, not visible from the road and quite a distance from the highway. Inside the vehicle were human remains. Authorities from the California Highway Patrol Amador Division have stated that the vehicle displayed “obvious signs” of involvement in a traffic collision.

Authorities from the Amador County Sheriff’s office have said it will likely take weeks to identify the remains.

Shaylee Scot, mother of four, remains in custody as the investigation surrounding her father’s death continues. She had been arrested on February 24th for violating her probation and possessing a firearm. Potential financial crimes are also being investigated.
