SJPD Arrests National Jr. Basketball Coach for Sexual Assault of Minor Under 14

SAN JOSE —The San Jose Police Department has reported the arrest of a National Junior Basketball Coach. According to the SJPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) / Child Exploitation Detail (CED) task force “On March 31, 2019, detectives received information that the suspect, David Keiser, sexually assaulted a 12-year-old female victim on multiple occasions over a one year period ending in March 2019.”
Family members have discovered that the 12-year-old had been in sexual contact with a 53-year-old male who was tasked with teaching young teens basketball. David Keiser had sexually assaulted the young teen multiple times throughout the year and it was presumed may have been trying to initiate other acts on other students.
Keiser was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for multiple counts of Lewd and Lascivious Acts with a Minor Under 14, by force (felony) – Penal Code 288(b) (1), Aggravated Sexual Assault, Oral Copulation with a Child Under 14 (felony) – Penal Code 269(a) (4), and Aggravated Sexual Assault, Sexual Penetration with a Child Under 14 (felony) – Penal Code 269(a) (5).
Keiser is being held on a no-bail warrant and currently being held at the Milpitas Elmwood facility.
