San Jose – The San Jose Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) / Child Exploitation Detail (CED) Task Force has arrested a Willow Glen Middle School teacher for taking inappropriate pictures of female students as well as accusations of molesting children in his care.

According to Sergeant Enrique Garcia, “On September 8, 2017, parents of Willow Glen Middle School students observed Physical Education Teacher / Track and Field Coach Clifford Pappadakis taking photographs of female students.” Pappadakis was immediately placed on administrative leave after police learned he had numerous inappropriate photographs of young children in his possession.  “The San Jose Unified School District initiated an internal investigation that also prompted an immediate police response,” Garcia said.

As the investigation began to wind down investigators determined that 47-year-old Pappadakis had committed seven counts of Annoying and Molesting a Child (misdemeanor) 647.6 PC and one count of Possession of Child Pornography (felony) 311.11(A) PC. An arrest warrant was signed after the investigation was submitted to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office.  Garcia said, “On February 14, 2018, Pappadakis self-surrendered at the San Jose Police Department.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Brian Spears or Detective Mike O’Grady of the San Jose Police Department’s ICAC/CED Unit at (408)537-1397.
