Shots Fired from Bishop Area Home

BISHOP – Early on Saturday morning the Inyo County Sheriff’s Office received a call of shots fired near See Vee Lane.  Responding deputies found nothing to confirm the call.

Approximately a half hour later they received another call concerning shots fired as well as a power outage.  Responding deputies discovered that the down power line had caused a minor fire on Tu-Su Lane..

Less than two hours later deputies were still on scene and heard shots coming from a house on Tu-Su Lane.

A CodeRED was set in place as surrounding residents were instructed to stay inside their homes. The Special Enforcement Detail surrounded the home where the shots originated.

With a warrant in hand, authorities entered the home and arrested its sole resident.

50-year-old Rick Dewey was arrested but at press time no charges were made public.
