10 Years in Prison for Ramming 2 Police Cars

LOS ANGELES — Nearly one year ago an incident occurred that resulted this Wednesday in a sentence of ten years in prison.

On October 31, 2016, 26-year-old Alexander Asad stole a vehicle from a home in Sherman Oaks and took off.

Police soon thereafter began a pursuit in which the suspect drove at times over 100 mph. Asad also drove on the wrong side of the road.

The chase continued onto the 101 freeway where Asad hit two cars, got off of the freeway and eventually ended up in a cul-de-sac. The cornered culprit then hit into the side of one police car and rammed into another, injuring two officers.

After his arrest, Asad pled no context to felony assault on a police officer, and then received his ten year sentence “immediately,” according to the LA County DA’s Office press release.
