Have you seen this robber?

CANOGA PARK — On July 6, a man armed with a handgun and a knife took over a sunglass retail store at the village Shopping Center on Topanga Boulevard, spraying paint over the security camera inside.

He then had the clerk fill trash bags full of merchandise totaling over $10,000 and walked out of the store… at which time he was photographed by the mall security system.

“I can’t remember a robbery so brazen,” said Detective Fernando Avila, robbery investigator at the Topanga Police Station. “Most crooks try to disguise their faces and don’t worry about the cameras, but this crook took a different approach.”

The suspect is described as white, possibly Middle-Eastern, 6 feet tall, 25-30 years old.

The LAPD announced that “anyone with additional information is urged to call Detective Fernando Avila, Topanga Detective, at (818) 756-3520. During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (1-877-527-3247).”
