Couple found with stolen truck, fake IDs

Ramiro Lozano and Beverly Minnich

MOUNTAIN VIEW — The Mountain View Police have announced the recent arrest of a Morgan Hill woman and a San Jose man. The pair were located on Wednesday morning near the Ramada Inn at 55 Fairchild Drive in Mountain View.

During a routine patrol check the MVPD noticed 42-year-old Ramiro Lozano and 36-year-old Beverly Minnich as they began acting suspiciously upon seeing the officers. When the officers parked and approached the couple, it was apparent that the woman was impaired by drugs. A search of her person revealed that she was in possession of several fake IDs and drug paraphernalia.

Once securing Minnich, officers then detained Lozano. During the questioning of Lozano it was discovered that he was on searchable probation for drug and property crime violations that occurred out of Santa Clara County.

It was clear as officers searched the stolen truck that fraudulent identification cards and other personal identifying material of several unknown individuals had been used to prepare fraudulent IDs in which a printer and a laminator were used. Officers also found what appeared to be methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the truck.

During the investigation into the stolen truck it was determined that the truck had not yet been reported as stolen.

Minnich and Lozano were booked into Santa Clara County Jail for identity theft, possession of a stolen vehicle and drug related charges. MVPD are in contact with possible victims whose information was found to be in Minnich and Lozano’s possession and being illegally used by them. The investigation into this case is still ongoing.
