MADERA — On March 19th, police received a report of a man with a gun tucked into his waistband entering the local Marshalls clothing store.

While officers responded and established a perimeter, an employee kept an eye on the suspect along with additional people who’d joined him inside. Watching them via CCTV also showed them stealing several items from store shelves.

Officers detained the subjects as they left and found a pellet gun on one of them, which bore a striking resemblance to an actual revolver.

Two suspects were arrested — Niko Cunningham for petty theft and conspiracy to commit theft, and Anthony Atterberry for two misdemeanor warrants, providing a false name, and conspiracy to commit theft.
