Mountain Ranch Man Arrested for Armed Robbery

MOUNTAIN RANCH — On November 4th at approximately 8:35 AM, Sheriff’s Deputies arrived in the 18000 block of Jesus Maria Road after a report of a shooting incident.

The incident was allegedly the result of an altercation between a male suspect and a female victim, during which the male suspect allegedly fired a handgun into a vehicle with both the victim and a friend of hers inside. He is said to have then stolen some of their belongings.

The suspect, identified as 64-year-old Jim Clancy, was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office jail for robbery and attempted murder, with bail set at $2,200,000.
