Suspicious woman in parking lot arrested for possession of illegal firearm

Corynn Mclemore

MILPITAS — The Milpitas Police Department has announced the arrest of a female suspect who was found to be in possession of an illegal firearm.

According to Milpitas Police Sergeant Tim Campbell, “On Thursday, September 15, 2016, at approximately 6:04 P.M., a Milpitas Police officer saw a blue 1998 Honda Civic sedan in the parking lot of Executive Inn, 95 Dempsey Road, and spoke to the woman who was in the car.”

During the initial contact, officers observed the woman acting suspiciously.  It was determined that 25-year-old Stockton resident Corynn Mclemore had an active felony warrant for grand theft from the Alameda County Sherriff’s Office.

Campbell said, “In the process of arresting her for the warrant, officers discovered she had a .45 caliber pistol concealed upon her person.”  The firearm was also loaded.

Thanks to the good work of the Milpitas Police Department in routinely providing proactive security checks throughout the city, a dangerous felon was taken into custody.

Mclemore was booked on new charges for the felony warrant and for possession of a concealed and loaded firearm.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or others is urged to contact the Milpitas Police Department at 408-586-2400.
