Carjacking Suspect Steals Milpitas Police Patrol Unit

Henrik Danni Baghdasarian

The incident started on the 1500 block of South Main Street in Milpitas, an area known for traffic violations often ending with police arresting people for DUIs.

The suspect, 34-year-old Henrik Danni Baghdasarian of San Jose, was found on December 25, 2015, after stealing a marked Milpitas patrol car and a 1997 Toyota RAV4 the night before.

Soon after Baghdasarian abandoned the Milpitas Police Unit, a woman reported that a man matching his description had stolen her car.  She was not injured during the incident.

Police used GPS to locate the patrol car near Old Oakland Road just beyond the Milpitas border in San Jose.

According to CBS San Francisco, Sgt. Abbie Serrano said in a statement, “Detectives identified Baghdasarian as the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant for him.”

Armed with a warrant and with the assistance of Gilroy PD, Baghdasarian was ultimately apprehended in Gilroy.

The next court date has been scheduled for December 30, 2015.  Bagdasarian is being held on a $350,000 bail warrant in the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
