BAKERSFIELD — A 29-year-old Bakersfield man under the influence of drugs and alcohol is behind bars after attempting to get on a school bus full of children on Friday morning.

Ian Hollis was booked into the Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility for child endangerment, vandalism and unlawful entry to a school bus.

According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place at about 7 a.m. on Friday, September 25, when deputies responded to a call from the Beardsley School District, stating that an unknown male subject was trying to enter the bus near the 300 block of Beardsley Avenue. When the subject was denied access, he allegedly vandalized the bus.
