SAN JOSE – The San Jose Police Department is asking for information regarding a robbery that occurred on Friday, January 9 at about 11:30 am. According to San Jose Police Officer Albert Morales, “A bank robbery occurred at the US Bank, located inside the Safeway store located at 1530 Hamilton Avenue.” Just before noon a white male suspect entered the bank and demanded money from the bank teller. Morales said, “The unknown suspect entered the bank, brandished a black handgun and demanded cash.”
Morales said, “The suspect is described as a white male adult, 5 feet 7 inches tall, approximately 25-30 years old, light complexion, flat-top style hair cut, wearing black sunglasses with orange frames and blue jeans.”
Video surveillance shows the suspect brandishing a black hand gun and demanding that the teller put an undisclosed amount of cash in a orange tote bag. Once the suspect received an undisclosed amount of money the suspect fled on foot. No one was physically hurt during the robbery.
