Crackdown on Drugs Leads to Eight Arrests

BORON — Eight individuals were arrested during crackdown on illegal drug activity in the Boron area and surrounding community this past week.

Booked into the Mojave Jail were, 34-year-old Kimberly Rush for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, destruction of evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia, and 35-year-old Dana Maclean for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale and bringing a controlled substance into a jail facility. John Riddle, 68, for possession of a controlled substance and possession of an illegal weapon, 29-year-old Steven Maclean for being a convicted felon in possession of ammunition, 44-year-old Robert Haynes for being in possession of a controlled substance and being under the influence of a controlled substance, 45-year-old Shannon Massey for being under the influence of a controlled substance and being in possession of drug paraphernalia, 44-year-old Jean La Fon for being under the influence of a controlled substance, and 45-year-old Steven Haynes for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, all of the arrests were the result two search warrants served by deputies on a pair of homes in Boron. The first on Aug. 15, at a residence in the 26000 block of Prospect Street, and the second on Aug. 22, at a home 27000 block of Nudgent Street, both in the City Boron, in eastern Kern County. The operation was part of the Sheriff’s Office zero tolerance approach to illegal drug activity.
